Northwestern Mutual Team Commits $250,000 to University of Louisiana- Lafayette
A team of 11 financial representatives from the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, along with the Northwestern Mutual Foundation, recently committed to donating $250,000 to sponsor a sales and research training laboratory for the Department of Marketing and Hospitality at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
The lab is one component of the comprehensive Professional Sales and Research Program the department plans to launch in the 2012-2013 academic year. The lab facility will be located on the main floor in Moody Hall.
UL alumnus and Northwestern Mutual's Managing Partner Steven Dugal put together the team of donors, most of whom are UL alumni. The team of donors includes Dugal, former Managing Partner Bill Hornsby, Stuart Cestia-Managing Director of the Lafayette office, and financial representatives Paul Nick, Taylor Davis, Stacy Russo Nichols, Bill Cunningham, Kenny Begneaud, Cindy Gunawan, Bill Bowers, and Elizabeth Gessner.
In addition to a 10-year sponsorship of the sales and research lab, the Northwestern Mutual donation will also endow two scholarships for students in the Professional Sales and Research Program
Steve Forbes and John Schlifske on
“Econo-ME: Redefining the Rules of Financial Security”
Northwestern Mutual hosted a speaker series with Steve Forbes, chairman and editor in chief of Forbes Media and John Schlifske, Northwestern Mutual chairman and CEO. Forbes and Schlifske shared their perspectives on the economy, the markets, and how individuals and business owners must redefine the rules of financial security during times of market volatility. The event was part of a three day, six-city tour and saw over 3,500 attendees. The New Orleans event, which took place at the New Orleans Marriott, had 1,000 in attendance.
